DELANO, MN – Though the name Equine Impressions sounds as though it may be a saddle shop, this new Delano business is far from a saddle shop or just a place for horse lovers.

Offering embroidery, silk screening, etching, and sublimation – Equine Impressions can personalize nearly any unique gift item.

Owner Donna Cole has lived in Delano for more than 14 years and, as a horse lover, moved here to have more room for her four-legged friends.

“My kids are horses,” said Donna Cole. “I have two Morgans, Anna and Fanny. I moved here to have room for horses and because this is where all the people I know who are into horses are.”

For 32 years, Cole worked for the US Postal Service and, after retirement, owned and operated Equestrian Outfitters saddle shop in Delano until 2004. She currently is a bus driver for Stahlke Bus

“I decided I didn’t want to be tied down to the saddle shop, but here I am, tied down again,” she said. “But, I love it and can’t just sit home and be retired.”

Beginning as a passion for horses, Cole started making themed gifts and selling them at horse shows. This eventually led to her business, Equine Impressions, which opened in October and is located in the Country Mall near Doreen’s Hair Salon and Chun Mee.

From towels, cups, and clothing to tiles, Cole can make a one-of-a-kind memorable gift item for customers.

“I can do almost anything,” she said. “I get so excited about it. It’s fun to get a good reaction from people. It motivates me when they like what I do.”

Equine Impressions is open Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call (763) 972-6650.
