Meeker dairy princesses to be crowned Saturday, March 14

MEEKER COUNTY, MN – The Meeker County Dairy Banquet has been set for Saturday, March 14, where the next four dairy princesses will be crowned at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

One of the four princesses will be the top point receiver and will win a trip to Alabama in November as part of a sister-city exchange program. This princess would then have tours of agricultural industries and see where peanuts, and cotton are produced, to name a few.

“Being a dairy princess makes the girls responsible and mature,” said Lori Christofferson, Meeker County dairy princess coordinator.

Christofferson has been involved with the program since 1994.

The four candidates are Jolene Schmitz of Eden Valley, Jessica Becker of Eden Valley, Jennifer Turck of Litchfield, and Danielle Heuer of Litchfield.

The banquet will begin with a social hour at 7 p.m., and dinner beginning at 8 p.m. The program and coronation will follow.

The two emcees will be former Meeker County dairy princess and Princess Kay runner-up Jill Warren, along with KLFD AM 1410 news director Tim Bergstrom.

Tickets for the buffet dinner are $13 and can be purchased at the door.
