Meeker Co. Fair ends up in Dassel
In 1905, the Meeker County Fair, which took place in Litchfield was discontinued, according to the Dassel Area Historical Society.
The Dassel Street Fair Association which had been organizing street fairs in Dassel sin 1875, reorganized as the Dassel Fair Association.
After a few years of waiting for the county fair to be “revived,” the Dassel Fair Association began having the fair in town. It also became a member of the Minnesota State Agricultural Society and the Federation of County Fairs of the State of Minnesota, according to DAHS archives.
The fairs took place in Dassel the third weekend in October.
