WATERTOWN, MN – A Montrose woman died as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident Tuesday morning just before 8 a.m. east of Watertown on Carver County Road 24 near Oxford Avenue.

Kelly Len (Brady) Nafus, 28, was driving a 1998 Honda Accord eastbound on Carver County Road 24 and apparently lost control and skidded sideways on the road. She was struck broadside by a westbound 1996 Dodge van being driven by Todd Michael Danielson, 47, of Watertown, according to Carver County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Bob Van Den Broeke.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and both were transported to Ridgeview Medical Center.

Nafus was pronounced deceased at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. Danielson sustained minor injuries.

Deputies responding noted the road was frost-glazed and slippery. Watertown Fire/Rescue also responded to and assisted at the crash scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Carver County Sheriff’s Office in the crash investigation and reconstruction.

Nafus was employed as a site supervisor for Mound-Westonka Schools, according to the school web site.

Funeral services for Nafus were Saturday in Mound. See the obituaries for arrangements and additional details.
