LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – The Prairie Days celebration in Lester Prairie with fun for all ages will take place this Friday and Saturday.

The Prairie Days committee decided last fall to move the event from June to July. The other major change for the event will be the location.

In recent years, most of the events have taken place at the city park on the south side of Second Avenue South.

This year, most of the events will take place in the new downtown park near the intersection of Central Avenue and Juniper Street.

A new event this year is the kids treasure hunt sponsored by Herald Journal and Litzau Excavating.

A load of sand will be brought in and dumped near the big tent downtown.

Kids will have a chance to dig in the sand to find treasure in the form of coins and prizes.
