DELANO, MN – When the doors of Delano Subway were opened at 9 a.m. Jan. 1, the store welcomed customers to a newly-remodeled restaurant.

Along with new appliances such as bread ovens and exhaust panels, the store itself is the first in the State of Minnesota to feature the new Subway Tuscany II Decor.

“It’s the very latest and newest design,” said owner Paul Kliewer. “The state of the art, complete store makeover has the latest colors, lighting, artwork, and designs.”

Kliewer has owned the Delano Subway since 2003, and has also owned the Subway in Cokato since 1997.

Though there was an option to move the Delano Subway, Kliewer opted to stay in what he considers a great and convenient location.

Currently his hope is to re-open the closed drive-thru, but they are waiting to return to pre-highway road construction revenues.

“The new appliance will make food preparation easier, and speed up productivity,” said Ben Aho, the Delano Subway manager. “It’s been great for staff and customers, too.”

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, Delano Subway will be hosting a grand reopening. The business will be offering a buy-one-get-one special for any six-inch sub.

“We invite all of Delano to stop in and see something we are very proud of,” said. Kliewer. “It’s also a great time to put in your Super Bowl party order.”
