Ellsworth plans for spring election
At the Dec. 17 Ellsworth Township meeting, the board decided to schedule an alternate township office election day in case of bad weather on election day this spring, Clerk Gordy Seiffert said.

In November, the board discussed damaged township road signs. This winter, damaged signs and old reflector coatings will be recorded and slated for replacement, Seiffert said.

Also, the 640th Avenue rebuild portion is completed for the winter, he added. Any needed touch-ups will be done in the spring.

Kingston Twp. plans clean-up day
Kingston Township officials decided to have a spring clean-up day at the Kingston Community Center, Clerk Gail Schiefelbein said. The date hasn’t been determined, but more information will be printed in the Enterprise Dispatch closer to the event.

Most trash will be accepted free of charge, with exceptions for certain items, Schiefelbein said.

Kingston Township also plans to work with Meeker County to spray wild parsnip in the spring, she added.

Stockholm discusses new buildings
At the Dec. 14 Stockholm Township meeting, the board heard a quote from Mike Johnson in regards to a new town hall and maintenance shed, Clerk Diane Johnson said.

Nothing has been decided, and the township is still exploring possibilities.

The township also heard a property line complaint from resident Donald Holm.

Collinwood to finish road in spring
The base one road stabilization project that began this summer in Collinwood Township will be completed in the spring, when the roads are fit to work on, Clerk Larry Ostlund said.

Knife River has most of the work done, but there are a few finishing touches that will need to be completed.

Dassel might dust-coat all roads
It’s possible that Dassel Township might dust coat all its roads next year, Clerk Karin Colberg said. The board discussed the possibility at the Dec. 8 township meeting.

“We’re going to investigate the cost,” Colberg said. The township might do the dust-coating as an alternative to black topping next year, which could be more cost-effective, she explained.

So far, nothing has been decided, and the township is still exploring its options.

Also, there will be no regular township meeting in January. The next township meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 9.
