Reach out to help the lost

Jesus gave this example: Suppose you had a hundred sheep and lost one. What would you do? You’d leave the other ninety-nine and look for the lost sheep. When you found it, you’d be overjoyed.

“In the same way . . . . there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 respectable people who do not need repentance.” Luke 15:7

A teacher asked her students to update Jesus’ parable of the lost sheep. One student wrote, “Suppose you finished typing a 100-page term paper. Then you discovered one page was missing. What would you do?

“You would search for it. When you found it, you would be so happy that you would throw the other 99 sheets in the air, saying ‘Yippee, I found my lost sheet.’”

That’s how God feels when a lost sinner returns to church. Have you tried to help an inactive Christian become active again?
