DASSEL, COKATO, MN Collective Unconscious is coming back for its second time to the Performing Arts Center Saturday, April 10 at 7 p.m. and will be performing songs from Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album.
In 2008, Collective Unconscious came for the first time to the PAC. They performed music from the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album and brought in a crowd of about 250 people.
“I heard nothing but great comments,” said Colleen Compton, Dassel-Cokato Arts Association’s executive director, adding it is a group of talented musicians.
Compton is excited for the group to come back and perform more great music that her generation grew up with.
“It’s just fun to sit back, close your eyes, and remember those days,” she said. “It should be a fun night.”
The band will bring in additional musicians, including a full horn section and string quartet with approximately 17 musicians on stage, according to Compton.
The first half of the program includes a few original pieces, as well as other songs by Paul Simon, while the second half will be songs from the “Bridge Over Troubled Water” album, including “Cecilia,” “The Boxer,” “Bye Bye Love,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Kodachrome/Maybellene,” “El Condor Pasa,” and more.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in the Community Education office or by calling (320) 286-4120. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for youth.
