DELANO, MN – Authorities with the West Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Sixth Street South in Delano Monday afternoon.

Jason Lee Hundley, 33, of Loretto, was taken into custody and is facing three felony-level charges relating to the incident.

A second suspect, a 29-year-old male from Delano, was also taken into custody, booked, and released. Formal charges have not been filed on this person.

During the execution of the search warrant, authorities recovered more than $10,000 in cash, four bags that contained a substance believed to be methamphetamine, several glass pipes commonly used to smoke the drug, and a pouch that contained a digital scale, and numerous plastic bags commonly used to package controlled substances for sale, according to a formal complaint.

The substances found in the bags field-tested positive for methamphetamine and totaled 143 grams, according to the complaint.

“It appeared that the methamphetamine was possessed with the intent to sell, given the quantity, the large amount of cash, the scale, and packing materials,” the complaint stated.

Officers also found an ATV in the garage that was confirmed to have been stolen out of Luverne, MN. While doing surveillance prior to the execution of the search warrant, officers saw Hundley driving the stolen ATV, according to the complaint.

Court records also show Hundley was convicted of kidnapping in 1996.

Hundley is facing two first degree felony drug charges relating to the possession of the narcotics, and also a felony theft charge relating to the ATV. The drug charges each bear a maximum penalty of 30 years imprisonment, and/or a $1,000,000 fine if found guilty. The theft charge carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment, and/or a $10,000 fine.

The West Metro Drug Task Force includes officers from Medina, Mound, Orono, West Hennepin Public Safety, and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

As of press time, Hundley remained in custody at the Wright County Jail with bail set at $250,000 with no conditions, or $100,000 with conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, July 13.
