Township filings to close Tuesday

WRIGHT, MEEKER COUNTIES, MN – Tuesday is the deadline for any township resident to file for a position that will be offered in the spring township elections.

The filing period started Dec. 29 and ends Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 5 p.m.

There is a filing fee of $2.

Generally, one supervisor and the treasurer positions are up, which feature three-year and two-year terms, respectively.

The two exceptions locally are Kingston Township and Darwin Township, which conducted elections in the past fall election.

In Cokato Township, Supervisor Tim Gosswiller’s term is up, along with Clerk Brad Morris.

As of Friday morning, no one had officially filed for the positions.

In Dassel, the supervisor position served by Erhard Woetzel, and clerk position served by Karin Colberg are both up. To file, call Colberg at (320) 275-3779.

In Stockholm Township, the supervisor position served by Paul Davis is up, along with Diane Johnson’s term as clerk.

As of Friday morning, no one had officially filed for the positions.

In French Lake Township, the supervisor position served by Paul Erickson is up, as well as the position served by treasurer Rosanne Peterson.

Erickson and Peterson have both re-filed.

In Ellsworth, Dave Tipka’s supervisor position, as well as the clerk position currently filled by Gordy Seiffert, are both up.

As of Friday morning, no one had officially filed for the positions.

In Collinwood, the supervisor position served by Carl Rokala is up, as well as the clerk position, served by Larry Ostlund.

Ostlund has re-filed for the clerk position, and as of Friday morning, no one had filed for the supervisor position.
