COKATO, MN – As a way to celebrate its inaugural year and get the community involved with hometown baseball, the Cokato Kings are hosting the first-ever Cokato Kings Community Night Wednesday, June 30.

Participating in the event with a number of activities will be the Cokato Corn Carnival royalty and this year’s candidates.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field (located on Brooks Lake) in conjunction with the King’s game against the Rockford River Bandits. There is no admission charge.

There will be a number of activities which the candidates and community members can participate in including face paintings and games between innings, with opportunities to win prizes.

The royalty will also throw out the first pitch of the game.

There will also be grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, along with other concessions available during the game.

“We just want the community to come out, have some fun, and enjoy watching the game,” said Rob Swendra, Kings manager.
