LESTER PRAIRIE, MN For several years, the Lester Prairie community Christmas celebration has taken place Sunday afternoons in the school gym.
This year, the event, which is sponsored by the Lester Prairie Business Association, will move back to its traditional day, Friday, Dec. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lester Prairie City Hall.
Business association president Troy Feltmann explained that the event competed against other activities on Sundays, so the business association made the decision to move it back to Fridays, as it had been in the past.
The event was also moved back to its traditional location at city hall.
The event has been scaled back somewhat this year.
Children will still have an opportunity to have a photo taken with Santa.
Parents will be able to take their own photos, or, if they choose, they will have the option of purchasing photos taken by members of the business association.
Lester Prairie preschoolers will perform Christmas songs starting at 6:30 p.m.
No dinner will be available this year, but the business association will serve free cookies, cider, and coffee.
