Concert set for Sunday, March 14 at the Performing Arts Center

DASSEL--COKATO, MN Straight out of St. Paul’s sister city in Germany comes the Neuss Chamber Orchestra to the Performing Arts Center Sunday, March 14 at 3 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.
Pronounced Nóis, the award-winning German orchestra has been performing both nationally and internationally for more than 50 years.
This particular tour around the Twin Cities area is being coordinated by the Sister City Partnership between St. Paul and Neuss, Germany, with this year being the 10th anniversary of this partnership.
The program, under the direction of Joachim Neugart, will feature works by Bach, Telemann, Pärt, Resphig, and Haydn.
The Dassel-Cokato Arts Association is excited for this international opportunity, expecially following the news that the Minnesota Orchestra would not be able to perform this year.
The association was informed that the orchestra did not have the funding to underwrite low-fee concerts such as at the PAC, according to DC Arts Association Executive Director Colleen Compton.
Since the Neuss Chamber Orchestra is touring from another country, the music will be similar to the Minnesota Orchestra, but the director’s comments will be unique, Compton said.
“It’s a good opportunity for us to try something different while still offering the orchestra experience,” she said.
Compton was recently informed that a talented piano soloist, Mariko Sudo, will be accompanying the orchestra and will add another dimension to the concert. “That will be a nice addition,” she said.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for youth, and can be purchased by calling (320) 286-4120 or at the Dassel-Cokato Community Education office.
All tickets are reserved seating.
