LESTER PRAIRIE, MN Lester Prairie residents were treated to visions of the past June 5 when about 20 members of the Twin Cities Model A Ford Club rolled into town in their antique cars.
Lester Prairie resident Eric Angvall, whose father-in-law, Don Scholz, is a member of the group, said the event, organized by member Ray Bragg, was part of a mystery tour. The group takes at least one of these tours each year.
The group was treated to a tour of Mahogany Bay (vintage watercraft) by founder and CEO F. Todd Warner, and toured Bristol Classics.
While in Lester Prairie, the group had lunch at Central Cafe, and toured Angvall Hardware & Mercantile, and Holasek & Son Greenhouses.
Lester Prairie firefighter Steve Klobe went out to look at the cars, and told the group about the fire department’s Model A fire truck.
They then went to the fire department to see the old truck.
After examining the vehicle, the group determined that it was probably a 1930 model, although some of the parts on the vehicle are from other years, according to Angvall.
The tour began at 8:30 a.m., and with stops in Winsted and Mound, in addition to Lester Prairie, it concluded at 8 p.m.
