MEEKER, WRIGHT COUNTIES, MN – Four area townships have updates for the week of July 26.

Kingston seeks supervisor
Kingston Township will have two supervisor positions and the treasurer position up for re-election this fall. Current supervisor Mike Cates and treasurer Mary Filzen will be running again, but Mark Hendrickson will not be seeking re-election.

The filing period will be Tuesday, Aug. 3 until Tuesday, Aug. 17, Clerk Gail Schiefelbein said.

French Lake appoints judges
Twelve election judges were appointed in French Lake Township for the Tuesday, Aug. 10 state primary election.

Judges include Rosanne Peterson, Lucille Ekholm, Mike Granquist, Daniel Leinonen, Paul Erickson, Richard Anderson, Jim Olson, Jan Killian, Patrick Lantto, Kathleen Kivisto, Mike Nelson, and Brenda Thoma.

Dassel Twp. finishes roadwork
Clerk Karen Colbeg said that Dassel Township has completed dustcoating its township roads. As of last week, the township also had completed most of the 2010 roadwork, but there was still some shoulder work to be done.

Collinwood Twp. trims trees
“We’re in the process of getting some trees trimmed in the township,” Clerk Larry Ostlund said.

Last month, Collinwood Township also completed two miles of blacktopping on 190th Street, between CSAH 15 and CSAH 18.
