CARVER, McLEOD COUNTIES, MN Three area townships have updates for the week of July 26.
Camden Twp. discusses fire protection rates
Camden Township, along with the townships of Hollywood, Watertown, and Waconia, is discussing fire protection policies with the City of Mayer, Clerk Roger Sauerbrey reported.
They are working together to develop a formula for determining fire protection contract amounts, in order to keep the rates stable from year to year.
“The ‘fair share’ formula being used now creates big changes from year to year in the amount we pay to the City of Mayer,” Sauerbrey noted.
Also, Camden Township’s election judges will soon undergo training provided by Carver County.
Hollywood Twp. does road tour
Hollywood Township recently completed its road tour, and the report will be brought to the board in August, Clerk Becky Burns noted.
Also, Carver County is working with Hollywood Township to lower the radio tower, Burns added.
Bergen Twp. researches quotes
Bergen Township is getting quotes for roadway cutting and spraying, Clerk Amy Meyer noted.
In other news, judges were appointed for the upcoming primary and general elections, which will take place at the Lester Prairie Sportsmen’s Club.
In June, the board approved a new computer for the township treasurer. It will replace an old computer that can no longer process the township financial program, Meyer noted.
