Kingston ok’s new cable service
Residents of Kingston Township now have the opportunity to receive cable through the phone lines, with Diversicom in Melrose. At Kingston Township’s February meeting, the board approved Diversicom’s request to offer this service, Clerk Gail Schiefelbein said.

The board also discussed the possibility of sharing wild parsnip spraying with Dassel Township in order to save money.

The township granted approval of a beer license for Millner Heritage Vineyard, north of Dassel. Before the license is issued, the vineyard will need to get approval from Meeker County, as well.

Kingston Township’s clean up day is set for Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center.

Friday, April 30, board members will be doing a road inspection, starting at 9 a.m., Schiefelbein said.

Darwin Twp. to examine budget
Darwin Township officials will be taking a look at the township’s budget during the Tuesday, March 2 meeting, Clerk Hildur Carlson said. The board had planned to examine its budget at the February meeting, but was waiting for information from the Dassel and Litchfield fire departments.

Stockholm meeting time change
The next regular Stockholm Township meeting will be Monday, March 8 at 7 p.m. because of the spring election Tuesday, March 9, Clerk Diane Johnson said.

Typically, Stockholm Township meetings start at 7:30 p.m.

Also, the budget meeting is set for Monday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., Johnson said.

At the February meeting, Tom Salkowski of Wright County Planning and Zoning gave a presentation to the board, Johnson added.

Cokato Twp. has new speed sign
There is a new 30 mph zone posted on the north side of Brooks Lake in Cokato Township, Clerk Brad Morris said.

At the February township meeting, the board began planning this summer’s graveling and dust coating, Morris added.

Collinwood keeps budget same
Collinwood Township’s proposed budget for 2011 is $159,800, which is the same amount as 2010’s budget, Clerk Larry Ostlund said.

“There was no increase,” he said.

The 2011 budget was proposed at the February meeting, and will be discussed at the annual meeting, Tuesday, March 9.

Dassel Twp. to set budget March 3
The Dassel Township board will have its budget meeting during the regular township meeting Wednesday, March 3, Clerk Karin Colberg said. During the meeting, the board will go over the 2009 budget, and will also set the budget for 2010.

A slow time for French Lake Twp.
The past month has been a slow time for French Lake Township, Clerk Rosanne Peterson said. There have been no construction plans, concerns, or other issues.

“We’re just focusing on our election,” Peterson said. The spring election is set for Tuesday, March 9, with polling open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
