DELANO, MN The Delano School Board received three applications for an open position on the school board due to the resignation of Tim Douglas, and is expected to appoint Randy Durick to the position at its next meeting Monday, May 23.
Durick, Ken Beamish, and Jack Stevens, all of Delano, applied for the position and were interviewed by the school board Monday night.
Delano Public Schools Superintendent Dr. John Sweet said a board consensus was reached to appoint Durick to the position. He has indicated he will serve upon appointment, Sweet added.
Durick is a division director of the network and interfaces division at Turck Inc., and has lived in the Delano School District about seven years.
A job relocation is taking Douglas to Iowa, according to Sweet. Douglas has served on the board since 2006, and served as treasurer.
