McLEOD, CARVER, WRIGHT COUNTIES, MN – Three area townships have updates this week:

Winsted Twp. seeks election judges
Winsted Township is looking for election judges for upcoming elections, Clerk Susan Goebel reported.

It is a paid position, and anyone who is interested should call Goebel at (320) 485-3552.

Also, Meeker Sand and Gravel will apply gravel to township roads starting the beginning of June.

Middleville renews mining permit
Middleville Township renewed a gravel mining permit for the Ortquist pit in Section 8.

“There were a few complaints from residents about noise and dust,” Clerk Joey Berg noted.

Mining activities are to take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with no work on holidays. The owners are also required to take care of dust control.

Hollywood to discuss school house
At the Monday, June 13 Hollywood Township meeting, the board will finish the discussion about the sale of the school house and old township shed.

“We will be setting the date and time of sale at this meeting,” Clerk Becky Burns noted.

Also, residents who haven’t received a coupon for $10 off at the Douglas Kugler Eco-Site can pick one up at the meeting.

Residents who would like dust control need to sign up as soon as possible by calling Burns at (952) 955-3481.
