CARVER, WRIGHT COUNTIES, MN – The filing period has ended for the four local townships that have elections this spring.

Generally, one supervisor and the treasurer positions are up, which feature three-year and two-year terms, respectively.

A few local exceptions are Hollywood, Camden, Bergen, and Winsted townships, which conducted elections last November.

Woodland Township
In Woodland Township, Gene Janikula’s term as supervisor is up, as well as Tami McClay’s term as treasurer.

Both incumbents re-filed.

Victor Township
The supervisor position of Greg Bakeburg is up, as well as the treasurer position of Sean Gross in Victor Township, and both incumbents re-filed.

Middleville Township
The treasurer position of Everrett Smith is up, as well as the supervisor position of Walt Barlow. (Barlow was appointed after the previous supervisor, Virgil Birkholz, passed away.)

Barlow has filed for the supervisor position, and no one filed for the treasurer position.

However, deputy treasurer Judy Forst will most likely accept the position as a write-in candidate, according to Clerk Joey Berg.

Marysville Township
Dale Ronning re-filed for supervisor and John Farrell also filed for the supervisor position in Marysville Township.
