McLEOD, CARVER COUNTIES, MN – Three area townships have updates this week:

Road closings in Winsted Twp.
Construction-related road closures in Winsted Township will take place within the next month, Clerk Susan Goebel noted.

Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association will be relocating power lines along Grass Lake Road, and Cable Avenue will be closed between McLeod County Road 5 and Highway 7 for the installation of a drainage tile.

Drivers are asked to use caution when they see road work signs, Goebel noted.

The spring road inspection will take place Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m.

Hollywood Twp. to sell shed and schoolhouse at a live auction
“After a lot of good discussion, the residents confirmed that they would like to sell the old township shed and the schoolhouse,” Hollywood Township Clerk Becky Burns noted.

At the April meeting, residents and board members decided to sell the buildings at a live auction. Details will be confirmed at the Monday, May 9 township meeting.

Also, for people who would like dust control, the May 9 meeting is the last chance to sign up.

The township will not be having a cleanup day this year, Burns added. Instead, it will offer $10 coupons that can be used at the Douglas Kugler Eco-Site in Watertown.

“Please come to the township meeting to receive your free coupon,” Burns noted.

Watertown Twp. burning permits
Burning permits in Watertown Township can be obtained from township chairman Si Tesch for $5. The forms have Carver County phone numbers to call in order to get permission immediately before the burn. Starting this summer, burn permits will be issued on an annual basis.

For more information, contact Tesch at (952) 955-1120.
