CARVER, WRIGHT COUNTIES, MN Three area townships have updates this week:
Hollywood Twp. hires new maintenance worker
The Hollywood Township board hired Bruce Osborn as its new full-time maintenance worker. He started Nov. 15.
At the November township meeting, the board signed paperwork to complete the purchase of a 2002 Ford F-550 dump truck with plow and sander, which will be used for checking roads, plowing cartways, sanding, and other tasks.
The board also reviewed a number of parcel changes in the township, due to recent real estate sales.
Scanned clerk record books from 1928 to 2005 are available on DVD for $25. If interested, contact Hollywood Township at (952) 955-3630 or (952) 955-3481.
Road maintenance in Camden
Trees have been trimmed and road ditches have been mowed in Camden Township.
Because of the dry weather, some of the roads have washboards and rough spots, according to Clerk Roger Sauerbrey.
“It does not work to grade a dry road,” he noted. “The rough spots would be back within three days.”
Also, the snowplows have been put on, and the township is ready for the winter season.
Retirees honored in Middleville
A gathering took place in Middleville Township to honor four recent retirees Nov. 12, including Bob Berg, supervisor from 1983 to 2007; Ann Birkholz (for Virgil, who served as a supervisor from 1993-2010); Everrett Smith, treasurer from 1980-2011; and Craig Gruenhagen, supervisor from 1997-2009.
