McLEOD, CARVER COUNTIES, MN Four area townships have updates this week:
Bergen Twp. appoints treasurer
At a special meeting July 11, the Bergen Township board appointed Angela Leverich for the treasurer position, which is being vacated by Melissa Tonn. Leverich will start her duties after the township’s August meeting.
Also, graveling has been done in the township, and the board approved the repair of frost boils on 160th and 175th streets.
A conditional use permit was approved for Gene Feltmann for special use of his shed.
Hollywood Twp. meeting Aug. 11
Hollywood Township will meet Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Typically, the township meets the second Monday of each month.
The auction for the old township shed and schoolhouse took place July 11. Patrick Foss purchased the shed, and Steve Burns bought the schoolhouse.
Fire department contracts being finalized in Camden Township
Camden Township, the city of Mayer, and the Mayer Fire Department are putting the finishing touches on the 2012 fire contracts
The charges will be similar to 2011, and there are some language changes being made to clarify when payments are due, according to Clerk Roger Sauerbrey.
Camden Township is also starting to develop a township handbook to assist the board in its work, as well as a contract/guidelines for groups that clean the township’s ditches.
Meeting Aug. 10 for Winsted Twp.
The next Winsted Township meeting will be Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m., according to Clerk Susan Goebel.
Graveling is complete in the township. At the July meeting, the board discussed possible replacement of a culvert on Cable Avenue.
Weed inspections have also been completed. Three landowners were cited.
