CARVER, WRIGHT, McLEOD COUNTIES, MN – Three area townships have updates this week:

Watertown Twp. recycling coupons valid until December
Watertown Township and the Douglas Kugler Eco Site at 676 Industrial Blvd. in Watertown will continue to accept $10 recycling coupons for redemption until December.

The coupons were originally sent to all Watertown Township households with the annual newsletter with an expiration date of June 2011.

“There are a limited number of coupons left,” Clerk Ann Bruner noted. “Please attend the Nov. 7 monthly meeting to obtain a coupon or call the office at (952) 955-2466 to set a time to pick up a coupon.”

In other business, reconstruction of the one mile of Swede Lake Road in Watertown Township was completed in September.

“This is the second road project completed since the residents of Watertown Township agreed to a levy increase which helps with the funds needed for renewal of gravel roads on an as-needed basis,” Bruner noted.

Open house in Middleville Nov. 12
An open house to honor recent retirees of the Middleville Township board will take place Saturday, Nov. 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The celebration will honor Bob Berg, Craig Gruenhagen, and Everrett Smith. It will also remember the late Virgil Birkholz, who served as a Middleville Township supervisor for 20 years.

In other business, the township is continuing to patch holes on Imhoff Avenue with crushed rock.

Also, a conditional use permit was approved for Kirk Zahrbock to operate a pallet manufacturing/recycling business at 10770 Highway 12 SW.

Dairy Avenue to be closed in Winsted Twp. for manure pumping
Dairy Avenue in Winsted Township will be closed within the next two weeks to allow for pumping of manure. Residents are asked to be aware of the upcoming road closure and use an alternate route, Clerk Susan Goebel noted.

In other business, the Winsted Township board voted not to support the paving of the Luce Line Trail.

Also, the culvert on 245th Street and Cable Avenue will be replaced.

The next Winsted Township meeting has been changed to Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Vollmer Room of Winsted City Hall.

Normally, meetings take place at 8 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.
