Helping others in great need

God has blessed us with a carousel of the four seasons, and a smorgasbord of all that goes with it. Winter – falling snowflakes and frosty designs on the windows. Spring – the first buds on the trees. Summer – a bounty of garden produce. Fall – the beautiful autumn leaves and shocks of corn.

Outdoor life has much to offer in the country, the barking of a dog, mooing of a cow, chirping of the birds, oinking of a pig, crowing of a rooster, meowing of a cat, and quacking of ducks. One by one, each farm animal adds their sounds, awakening a sleepy world, a symphony has begun, announcing the start of a fresh new day. A remarkable gift that God has blessed us with.

Wisely, God chose to divide our lives into bite-size chunks called days. Just think how life here on earth would be if it were one long chore for 90 or so years.

God was also creative to divide the day into segments with special interests: morning, noon, evening, and night. Each hold us captive with a wonderful unique presentation, ours to enjoy to the fullest.

The Winsted Lions would be honored to have you as our morning guests while attending the fundraiser to benefit Becky Eberhard and her children, Liam, 9; Ivan, 5; Hugo, 4; Holly 4; and Orin, 2. The event will be Sunday, March 25, at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We will be unfolding the morning, graced by the scents of sausage, pancakes, applesauce, milk, orange juice, and the aroma of coffee. The breakfast will be a suggested free will offering.

Many from the Winsted community and surrounding areas have donated items for a wonderful array of silent auction items to put your bid on. Everyone wants the day to be a success and, at the same time, wants to feel they have helped this family in great need.

Every day is a process of great delight if only we take the time to participate. We need to recognize that it was our creator who made the day and night and all of the in-between. Come one come all to help bring fingerprints and footprints on our world by helping in a humanitarian way, by benefiting Becky Eberhard and her small children in great need. If anyone wants to donate anything, feel free to contact Lion Pam Fiecke at (320) 485-2434.
