COKATO, MN A new boutique, featuring purses, scarves, and other accessories, opened Nov. 10 in the former barber shop on Millard Avenue in Cokato.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own store and own my own business,” said Beth Wanha, of Cokato, who opened the boutique as an extension of her home-party business, Bevie’s Bags and Accessories.
Over the last seven years, Wanha has participated in a number of home-party businesses, while also working full time.
She was inspired to start her own business after attending another home-party business that someone had started on her own.
“I thought, ‘well, I can do that,’” Wanha said, and Bevie’s Bags and Accessories was born.
Recently, she stopped working elsewhere to devote her time to growing Bevie’s Bags and Accessories.
For the last six months, Wanha researched and found vendors of quality products to sell at her new boutique.
Items that can be found in her shop include purses, jewelry, wallets, cosmetic bags, scarves, head warmers, hand warmers, and sunglasses.
The designer-inspired handbags at Bevie’s Boutique, similar to those sold at mall kiosks, sell for $28-50, and jewelry and accessories are $4-16.
Soon, she will also have an inventory of jeans and other clothing available, as well as children’s accessories.
Bevie’s Boutique is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays noon to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
