ST. CLOUD, MN At its October meeting, the Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB) awarded $101,532 in support of 19 regional arts projects, including the old-fashioned Christmas event in downtown Delano.
Three main criteria are used to evaluate applications: artistic quality and merit; ability of the organization to carry out the proposal; and the need of the community.
The Delano Area Council of Arts and Culture will receive $1,570 for the old-fashioned Christmas event coming up Saturday, Dec. 1, in partnership with many local organizations. The event provides a family-friendly, intergenerational, free event, featuring an art walk, music, drama, literary events, and more.
Funding for these CMAB grants are provided through appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature, with money from the state’s general fund, and its arts and cultural heritage fund created by the votes of the people of Minnesota.
The CMAB is one of 11 regional arts councils in Minnesota with the purpose to support and promote art appreciation throughout region 7W, consisting of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright counties.
