DARWIN, MN A Caring Bridge website has been set up for Father John Pearson of St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin, who is recovering from neuro surgery.
Pearson was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in Robinsdale Dec. 17, where he underwent emergency surgery to repair a “significant vessel tear in the brain,” according to the Caring Bridge site.
Last week, Pearson was moved from the intensive care unit to the rehabilitation unit, where he will continue occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.
A family member posted that “while his medical situation has improved, he has a long way to go with his cognition.”
The primary goal is to assist his memory without over stimulating, which is why it is preferred that he not have visitors at this time “especially during this initial aggressive start to his therapy.”
To check the daily status of Father Pearson and to sign his guest book, visit his Caring Bridge website at www.caringbridge.org/visit/fatherjohnpearson.
Cards may be sent to the church at 106 North Fourth Street, Darwin, 55324.
