DELANO, MN Lightning struck a Delano home late Thursday night as a strong storm front moved through the area.
Wright County authorities received a report of a structure fire in the 400 block of Meadow Rose Court in Delano at 10:36 p.m., according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy arrived on scene and observed no smoke or fire. The deputy made contact with the renters, Christopher Keller and Tiffiney Taylor. Keller told the deputy he had heard a lightning strike and then saw sparks on the northwest side of the house, according to the sheriff’s office. He also stated he smelled smoke inside the residence, but none was visible.
Damage was observed to the siding on the northwest side of the home in the second floor area.
The Delano Fire Department checked the house with thermal imaging and found no further sign of fire or structural damage.
