WRIGHT, MEEKER COUNTIES, MN Six area townships will be electing new officials Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Filings for two-year treasurer positions, as well as supervisor positions (typically three-year terms), will be open from Tuesday, Jan 1 through 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, with a withdrawal deadline of Thursday, Jan. 17.
Township residents interested in filing for a position can contact the respective township clerk for an application. There is a $2 filing fee.
In Cokato Township, the two positions up for election include the supervisor position of Kurt Dahlin, as well as the treasurer position of Nancy Dahlman.

In Collinwood Township, the supervisor position currently served by John Nowak is open, as well as the treasurer position of Michelle Schnitzler.

At last year’s Stockholm Township election, residents voted to move to a five-supervisor board. As a result, there will be four positions up for election in March.
Current Supervisor Dan Gesinger’s three-year term is up, as well as the two-year treasurer position of Cecilie Sangren. A new three-year supervisor position, and a new two-year supervisor position, will also be elected.

French Lake Township
In French Lake Township, Lucille Ekholm’s position as treasurer is up for election, as well as the position of supervisor Paul Erickson.

There are two positions open in Dassel Township, including Galen Nyman’s treasurer position, and Erhard Woetzel’s supervisor position.

In Ellsworth Township, the supervisor position currently served by Dave Tipka is open, as well as the treasurer position of Elvera Smith.

At Kingston Township’s general election in November, residents voted to return to having elections in March.
Township officer elections will not take place until March 2014, but the township will still have its annual meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12.
