Deadline to file is Tuesday, Jan. 15

FRANKLIN, WOODLAND, MARYSVILLE TOWNSHIPS, MN Local township residents interested in filing for an open position will soon have their opportunity.
Positions will be offered in the spring township elections.
The filing period starts Tuesday, Jan. 1 and ends Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m., with a withdrawal deadline of Thursday, Jan. 17. There is a filing fee of $2.
The election will take place Tuesday, March 12.
Franklin Township has one supervisor seat, presently held by Mike Barfknecht, that will appear on the ballot this spring.
Affidavits of candidacy may be filed with the Township Clerk/Treasurer Denise Olson at her home office, 545 Elm Avenue in Delano. Call (763) 972-3741 to make filing arrangements.
Woodland Township features two open seats, the supervisor position previously held by Ken Pawelk, as well as treasurer Paula Wood Lavigne’s position. (Ken retired in July, and Barry Pawelk was appointed to fill his position until March.)
