I have been anxiously waiting to write this story, not because it’s the start of a brand new year, but because we all made it past Dec. 21, 2012. Remember, the world was suppose to end according to Mayan prophecy?
Although I was waiting, along with the rest of the world, nothing happened. I did enjoy a wonderful meal and opened gifts with my side of the family. It is nice to see we’re all intact and going forward into a fresh new year.
Hollywood went to extraordinary lengths to create a movie, “The Movie 2012,” while spending millions of dollars for production and fast action. Those who viewed this movie were in total amazement.
My concern at this time was how Hollywood could feel they could step into the shoes of God and predict our future, that which God himself only knows.
In reality, the Bible prophecy is the only accurate predictor of the end of the world, because God is the only one who actually knows the future.
It’s not a question of whether the world will end. God’s word says it will. Our concern should not be when it will end, instead, our main focus should be to seek God and to be spiritually prepared for the times that are coming, for God has a plan for all of us.
Jesus said it would be impossible for men to precisely calculate this ahead of time. (Matthew 24: 36,42,44, Mark 12:32, and Matthew 25:13).
Now, for those of you patrons who did see the movie, don’t you feel like you would like to ask for a full refund, because the Mayan prophecy didn’t have a foundation to stand on?
This Mayan prophecy versus Bible prophecy proves to us that the Bible always stands strong, and in truth, according to its scriptures.
There is only one primary author, the one who inspired all the human authors, and that is our eternal God. God used all these human authors to give us his message, through the presence and inspiration of his spirit. He did not simply give dictation to these authors, but God’s message, God’s authorship is always there, providing, in the end, exactly what He wanted us to have. In this way, the Bible is our own ageless treasure.
