LESTER PRAIRIE, MN Lester Prairie City Council Member Sandie Adams-Bruins told the city council via e-mail last Monday morning she will be resigning from the council during the Tuesday, Dec. 10 council meeting.
In the e-mail, she explained her house has been sold, and she will be moving out of the city.
She said she is saddened she will be unable to continue serving on the city council and planning commission.
Adams-Bruins was elected to her first term on the city council last November, and took office in January.
The term of office from which Adams-Bruins is resigning is a four-year term which runs through the end of 2016.
The city council will need to appoint someone to fill the seat through the end of 2014, and the seat will be placed on the ballot in the November 2014 general election for a two-year term.
