BUFFALO, MN Wright County Board approved a request from the city of Delano Tuesday to allow the city to make repairs to County Ditch 34 at the city’s expense.
In 2011, the county authorized the city to outlet storm water from a proposed industrial park into County Ditch 34.
The city is now proceeding with development of the industrial park.
The city intends to replace drain tile on the industrial park property with concrete pipes of similar size at the same elevations.
For approximately 200 feet of the ditch where the tile does not have adequate ground cover, the city will replace the tile with an open ditch.
The changes will not alter the hydraulic capacity of the ditch, but will assist in maintaining the efficiency of the drainage system.
The city has paid an outlet fee of $20,000 as required by the county.
The city intends to make the repairs next year.
