COKATO, MN For nearly 30 years, Broadway Hair Fashions has been the key to style in the Dassel-Cokato area.
With six stylists to choose from, Broadway offers a variety of services for the entire family.
Located in Tower Center Mall, Broadway Hair Fashions provides trendy and friendly service, from style cuts and dimensional color to ear piercing and manicures/pedicures.
Coming this spring, the salon will offer “gelish” nail manicures, an alternative to acrylics and regular polish. These gel polishes stay on nails for three weeks with no chipping or peeling and nails remain healthy and strong.
In addition to the services, Broadway offers several high-quality product lines to choose from such as Kenra, Redken, AG, and American Crew for men. Other specialty products include Malibu 2000 to protect hair against well water and chlorine, along with Nioxin for thinning hair. Curling irons, flat irons, and gift items are also available for purchase.
Jody Danielson, owner, and a stylist for 37 years, continues to love her job. When her children were still at home, she remembers telling them, “I’m going to make the world beautiful,” when she would go to work.
Part of what she loves is the personal connections made between the stylist and the client.
Oftentimes, it becomes a cycle that continues from one generation to the next, and Broadway stylists are there for high school proms, weddings, the child’s first haircut, and beyond.
In 2007, Broadway was able to expand its space, which allowed for more stylists. “That has been a great move that has allowed us to offer a lot of creative services at one time,” Danielson noted.
In addition, the atmosphere is one that makes everyone feel comfortable.
Broadway stylists enjoy working together, as well. “We’re a fun team,” Danielson said.
All of the stylists are experienced, including a former salon owner and a former stylist in Chicago. They are JoAnne Terning, Brenda Kotila, Shauna Rien, Michelle Davidson, Lisa Rollins, and Danielson.
Staying on top of the latest trends and styles is important to Broadway stylists, who attend hair shows and style clinics on a regular basis.
After the barber shop closed in Cokato, Broadway’s male clientele has increased.
“More men are realizing that Broadway is a great place to get that early-morning appointment, a quick cut over lunch break, or at the end of the day,” Danielson said.
She encourages people to stop in. “Let us help you find a great new look,” she said.
