DELANO, MN A benefit for Elliot Lamecker, 29, will take place Sunday, Aug. 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Apple Jack Orchards.
Elliot is the brother of Nick Lamecker of Delano, and son-in-law of Mike and Kit Dekarski of Delano (owners of Apple Jack Orchards).
Elliot was thrown from a mechanical bull Oct. 5, 2012, and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. He is classified as a quadriplegic, but has arm movement, and continues improving through his therapy at Courage Center.
Elliot would like to be admitted to the A.B.L.E. Program of intensive therapy at Courage Center (www.couragecenter.org/able), and he needs help since it is an expensive program.
The benefit will include food, a silent auction, wagon rides, jumping pillow, cow train, live music, and Apple Jack baked goods. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children.
There will also be a raffle sponsored by the Delano Knights of Columbus, which includes a week’s lodging in Florida, a Benelli shotgun, an iPad, a 32” TV, a $300 Target giftcard, and much more.
Raffle tickets are available at the orchard, and will be sold until 5 p.m. at the event.
