LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – The unofficial results of Lester Prairie School District’s special election are in, and voters have authorized the district to transfer $755,446 in remaining bond proceeds to be used for school improvements including a sprinkler system, asbestos abatement, and roof repairs.

According to Superintendent Mike McNulty, the vote, which took place Wednesday, was 82 percent “yes” to 18 percent “no,” with a voter turnout of about 14 percent.

There were 215 “yes” votes and 46 “no” votes.

“I am excited with the results,” McNulty said after the election. “The projects that will be supported with the funds are in need. The students, staff, and residents of the Lester Prairie District need to have a building that is safe, fully functional, and attractive. This step is a move forward and the support of the Lester Prairie district is commendable.”

McNulty said he appreciates all residents for supporting the future of the district.
