MONTROSE, MN A Wright County Sheriff’s Deputy extinguished a fire at a Montrose apartment Wednesday around 7:41 p.m.
The sheriff’s office and Montrose Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire in the 200 block of Nelson Boulevard.
When a deputy arrived on scene, heavy smoke was found coming from an upstairs apartment, according to the sheriff’s office. The deputy located a small fire in the kitchen that the deputy extinguished with their fire extinguisher. The deputy searched the apartment and no one was found in the residence.
The owner of the complex, Jerome Hanson, was on scene and provided insurance information, according to the sheriff’s office. The tenant, Jacob Lepage, was also informed and responded to the apartment. The investigation remains open.
