DELANO, MN Infrastructure improvements being made in Delano will come to a stop over the next few weeks.
The Meadowlark Drive area is nearly complete, with work in Barb King Inspiration Park still needed, according to the most recent update on the project from the City of Delano. Honeytree Drive is completed.
Elm Avenue received its final bituminous course, and the majority of the construction activity is now being focused on the Shadywood Lane, 14th Street, and St. Peter Avenue neighborhoods.
Recent parts of the project completed include all of the storm sewer work on St. Peter Avenue, a portion of sod placement in the Shadywood neighborhood.
Paving the first lift of bituminous on Oak Ridge Drive, Maple Ridge Drive, and Maple Ridge Circle has also been completed.
Work still underway for this construction season includes finishing excavating and filling St. Peter Avenue, and pouring curb and gutter on St. Peter and Fourth Street.
Paving 14th Street (north of Elm) and Walnut Court is also anticipated to be complete in the near future.
Curb removal and replacement on Country Lane will also take place yet this construction season. Driveway access will be restricted during this process to allow time for the new curb to cure.
Work cres ask drivers to reduce speed through the construction areas.
“Safety is our highest concern for both residents and the workers,” according to the city update. “We ask that everyone use extreme caution while driving through any construction areas.”
• Residents on any of the streets that have had the sod placed may replace any landscaping that may have been removed prior to the construction.
