WINSTED, MN Anyone with two X chromosomes may want to check out the Winsted Women’s Expo Saturday, April 13.
Featuring jewelry, purses, pillows, photography, makeup, and other items, the 11th annual event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blue Note Bar and Ballroom in Winsted.
“It’s a great place to shop for yourself, or for gifts. The expo has things you can’t find at a store,” said Sarah Fasching, Winsted Women’s Expo committee member.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to win a pair of Winstock tickets, along with other fun door prizes.
“You sign up as you walk in the door, and you don’t have to be present to win,” Fasching said.
About 60 booths will be set up at the expo, providing unique gifts for Mothers Day, birthdays, or any occasion. A few of the Winsted vendors include Rodan and Fields (skin care) by Erica Hertzog, Thirty-One by Megan Tormanen, Hidden Treasure Pocket Pillows by Kari Proffitt, Tastefully Simple by Rose Menden, and many more.
Many vendors are from other communities, such as Buffalo, Cokato, Hutchinson, Howard Lake, Waverly, Glencoe, Dassel, Prior Lake, Maple Grove, and Lester Prairie.
Admission to the expo is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the McLeod Emergency Food Shelf.
More than 400 people (about 98 percent of whom were female) attended the expo in 2012. Fasching and the other committee members, Julie Guggemos, Erin Kutz, and Jennifer Stratton, are hoping this year’s event will be just as successful.
The expo is presented by the Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Winsted Gentle Dental Care, Flagship Insurance Services, and Jeff Campbell of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate.
To sign up as a vendor, fill out a registration form at www.winstedchamber.com, or call Fasching at Flagship Insurance Services at (320) 485-3821.
