ORONO, MN The identity of the second man involved in the traffic crash that killed Delano resident Steven F. Crowley April 11 was released early last week by the Orono Police Department.
The second driver has been identified as Nnamdi Brian Okolue, 25, of Burnsville, according to the Orono Police Department.
Delano City Administrator Phil Kern said during Tuesday’s city council meeting that Okolue was employed by the city’s auditing firm, Minneapolis-based CliftonLarsonAllen. Okolue was en route to Delano to meet with city officials.
Okolue, who was traveling westbound on Highway 12, crossed the center line and hit Crowley head on, according to the Orono Police Department. The reason the vehicle crossed center is unknown, and the investigation remains open.
The crash took place on Highway 12 west of Hennepin County Road 6 just after 7 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles with severe damage.
A male driver in one vehicle had fatal injuries, and the male driver in the other vehicle was very critical and later died on scene as a result of the crash, according to the Orono Police Department.
Funeral services for Crowley took place Wednesday.
Funeral services for Okolue, will be Saturday, April 26 at noon at Speak the Word Church International, 515 Jersey Ave. S., Golden Valley, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church.
