DELANO, LORETTO, MONTROSE, MN With a general election coming in November, the filing period for local offices opens at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 29; and closes 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12.
There are a number of seats up for election in the cities of Delano, Loretto, and Montrose, along with the Delano School Board.
City of Delano
There are three seats up for election for the City of Delano, including that of mayor.
Currently serving as mayor is Dale Graunke. This is a four-year term.
The two council seats up for election are those currently served by Derek Schansberg and Dan Vick. Both are four-year terms.
To file for any of the positions, interested candidates should file with the office of the city clerk and pay the regular filing fee of $2. For more information, call Delano City Hall at (763) 972-0550.
Those elected Nov. 4 will begin their duties the first business day of 2015 and continue through the last business day of December 2018.
City of Loretto
There are three seats up for election for the City of Loretto, including that of mayor.
Kent Koch currently serves as mayor, a two-year term.
The two council seats up for election are those currently served by John “Archie” Neumann and Tom Pedersen.
To file for any of the positions, interested candidates should file at the Loretto City Hall (279 N. Medina Street, Suite 260) during regular office hours and pay the regular filing fee of $2. For more information, call the Loretto City Hall at (763) 479-4305
City of Montrose
There are three seats up for election for the City of Montrose, including that of mayor.
Roy Henry is the current mayor. He was appointed to the position upon the resignation of former mayor Scott Czanstkowski in 2013. The remaining two years of the initial four-year term will be filled at the election this fall.
The two council seats up for election are those of Mark Krotzer and Ben Kuehl. These are four-year terms.

Delano Public School Board
Four four-year positions on the Delano School Board are up for election this fall. The seats are presently held by Carolyn Milano, Corey Black, Lisa Seguin, and Mark Larson.
Affidavits of candidacy are available from the school district office 700 Elm Avenue East, Delano, MN 55328.
The filing fee for this office is $2. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or next ensuing general election.
The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk and the filing fee paid prior to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12.
