DASSEL, MN As of May 5, Augustana Health Care Center (Dassel Lakeside) has a new administrator at the helm.
Originally from Montevideo, Brianne Wolters has taking over the duties of former administrator Bill Ward, who retired last month after 33 years.
Wolters most recently comes from Deseret Health Group, a long-term care nursing home in the Owatanna/Fairbault area.
With a master’s degree in gerontology, her desire to work in longterm care really started when she was 7 years old.
“I was a penpal through school to an older gentleman named Clarence, and I loved it,” she said.
Wolters has 10 years experience in health care and is looking forward to working in the Dassel facility.
She noted that Ward ran the health care center very well, and residents really seem to like it there.
Ward’s leadership and longevity as an administrator of Dassel Lakeside was one of the things that attracted Wolters to the position in Dassel, she said.
“With Bill Ward’s dedication and longevity to Lakeside, it gave me an assurance that I would want to continue my career here,” Wolters commented.
She also had worked for Augustana before as a high schooler, working as a dietary aid at Brookside Manor in Montevideo.
“I’m excited to be here,” she said of Dassel Lakeside. “I have a lot to do and a lot to learn, but I have a lot of energy.”
Wolters is looking forward to bringing innovation to Dassel Lakeside, while keeping Ward’s legacy. “I need to find that balance,” she said.
Wolters has a 7-year-old son, Cam, and lives in Hutchinson.
