Auctioneer opens New and Used Sale retail store in old Winsted creamery building

WINSTED, MN – Buying and selling is Jeff Krueger’s specialty – and lately, he’s expanding his business in Winsted.

Krueger’s New and Used Sale store is located in the old creamery building at 211 McLeod Ave., offering hardware, electronics, toys, party favors, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, small appliances, and more.

“It’s anything and everything,” Krueger said, explaining that inventory often comes from stores that have overstock or are closing.

Krueger also operates Garden Sheds Storage out of the historic creamery. About 50 secure storage spaces are available, ranging in size from 6 feet to 20 feet.

“Originally, I planned to just manage the storage units, but we decided Winsted would be a good place to move,” Krueger said, referring to the retail store he opened in April 2014.

Before, Krueger had been based in his hometown of Hutchinson. (Krueger and his family currently live outside of Silver Lake.)

“Winsted actually has a good draw,” he said. “People from the west metro will come out here, but some won’t drive the extra distance to Hutchinson.”

Having a convenient location is important for the auction aspect of Krueger’s business. As an affiliate with K-Bid (www.k-bid.com), Krueger conducts about two online auctions per week.

Bidders receive an invoice for the items they won, and can schedule a pickup time at the creamery building. Customers who live far away can also choose to have their items shipped by mail.

Krueger’s auctions include houseware items, antiques, vehicles, boats, farm equipment, and more.

“I can do on-site auctions, too,” he added.

Krueger got his start in auctioneering through e-Bay about a decade ago. From there, he began to concentrate on inventory liquidation.

At the New and Used Sale retail store in Winsted, Krueger aims “to have everything be a good deal.”

“We try to keep a good mix, and keep it fresh in the store,” he added.

Anyone with items they’d like to sell is welcome to contact Krueger for details.

“We’re always taking consignments,” he said, adding that there is no fee for an auction listing.
