How to find help

Each one of us needs help from time to time. If you need help today, here are three suggestions for you:

• Ask God. Pray. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34). You are precious in the eyes of the Lord. We know this because of Jesus.

• Search for help on your own. Here’s a link to a Web page with a list of resources: bit.ly/DCMNHelp.

• Ask someone you know for help. Ask them to pray with you. Don’t try to face things alone. Don’t be proud.

God has richly blessed our communities with generous people and wonderful churches. If you’re finding it difficult to find the help you need, please don’t give up. I think I can speak for all of our local pastors and churches and say we find it a privilege and a joy to walk beside those who are honestly in need.

You may feel there is no good option for you, but the truth is different. Caring people stand ready to pray and help as the Lord leads. And our God is truly gracious to all those who come to Him.

“Come to me,” says Jesus. Come all you who are wearied and burdened, says our Lord, risen from the dead. He will give you just what you need.

Sometimes, He gives directly and miraculously. Sometimes, He gives practical help through others. I pray that you will be open to receiving as He desires to give to you today.

God’s peace to you.
