Dassel-Cokato businesses and organizations are gearing up for the 13th annual Dassel-Cokato Business Expo Saturday, March 7 hosted by the Cokato and Dassel chamber of commerce.
The expo will once again be located in the commons area of the Dassel-Cokato High School with a free pancake breakfast served by the Cokato-Dassel Lions Club.
According to Dori Kimball, expo chair, there has been a great vendor response this year, with a lot of first-time participants registered.
“There is a good variety between services, retail, and food-based businesses,” she said.
The breakfast is paid for by Cokato Chamber and generous businesses, including Bohnsack Family Dentistry, Enterprise Dispatch, Fiedler Dentistry, Meeker Memorial Hospital and Clinic, Bludorn Builders, and Decks Unlimited.
It’s a nice service provided by the Lions Club, Kimball said, adding that most chamber members are busy working at their own booths during the expo.
Each year, the expo seems to gain attendance, which Kimball would like to see continue.
“We hope our trend of an increased turnout continues,” she said.
Though the vendors and free breakfast is a draw, the turnout is heavily dependent on the weather, Kimball noted.
This year, there are 47 vendors who will have booths in an effort to educate the public on their business or organization.
There will also be a number of door prizes to be given away, both by the Dassel and Cokato Chambers, and by the individual businesses represented.
The expo is free, and open from 9 a.m. to noon.
Both the Cokato royalty and the Dassel ambassadors will be at the expo, visiting with attendees.
They will also be working in front of the camera as they help Wright-Sherburne Cable Company record commercials highlighting some of the businesses and organizations represented at the expo.
The commercials can then be viewed on local cable access channels.
“It’s a great opportunity for exposure for the businesses that lasts beyond Saturday,” Kimball said.
