LESTER PRAIRIE, MN Lester Prairie School Board approved the district’s certified master agreement contract with teachers for 2015-17 during its Dec. 21 meeting.
The contract will include an increase of approximately 1 percent in each of the two years, plus steps, according to Superintendent Jeremy Schmidt.
The total increased cost to the district as a result of the new contract will be approximately $94,000, plus about $3,500 in benefits over the two years of the contract, Schmidt noted.
ECFE and pre-school pay follow the same pay increases as teachers.
Enrichment pay will increase from four-fifths of $875 per semester to the entire $875.

Trap shooting head coach and assistant increased to 4 percent and 2 percent respectively, Schmidt noted.
After conducting the annual truth in taxation public hearing, which no residents attended, the board approved the district’s levy.
The $906,811 levy represents an increase of $163,386 or 21.98 percent from the previous levy.
Schmidt noted this is the result of the referendum approved by voters in November.

In other business, the board:
• accepted the resignation of Amy Meyer as media center paraprofessional.
• accepted the resignation of Isabel Alba-Carlson as kitchen helper.
• changed the date of the January board meeting to Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
