DASSEL, MN Anyone looking to be inspired, amazed, and refreshed by creativity might want to swing by the Discover Dassel Fall Art Tour Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We are excited about the art we have lined up for the tour,” said Lynda Peterson of l.louise Home & Art. “It is a great time to invite people to our town and show them what we in Dassel and those with connections to Dassel have to offer. I believe it will be an interesting and entertaining day for all those who attend. Please join us.”
Twenty-nine artists will exhibit in seven locations in Dassel. Everything from fiber art to photography to sculpture will be on display.
“There’s something for everybody,” commented Jena Levandowski of Levandowski Pottery in Dassel.
Last year was the first art tour in Dassel, and it was brought back by popular demand.
“It was very well attended,” Levandowski said of last year’s event. “It’s really nice to have local support for artists.”
She added that the quality of artwork at the tour was outstanding, and she was surprised by the amount of talent the Dassel area has to offer.
“We are looking forward to this year,” Levandowski said, explaining that she and her husband, Aron, have been busy working on new pottery.
The tour is organized by the Discover Dassel Committee, which consists of Levandowski, Peterson, Sheryl Faust, and Carolyn Holje. For questions about the event, or to be added to the mailing list for next year’s tour, contact Holje at the Dassel History Center, at (320) 275-3077.
Tour funding has been made possible, in part, by a grant from the SW Minnesota Arts Council, through a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
“The Dassel-Cokato Arts Association is sponsoring this as well,” Holje said.
