WRIGHT, MEEKER COUNTIES, MN Local townships will be conducting their annual meetings Tuesday, March 8, and most will also have elections that day.
Dassel Township has two open positions. Erhard Woetzel re-filed for the supervisor position, and Karin Colberg re-filed for the clerk position.
Polls are open from 5 to 8 p.m., with the board of canvass commencing at 8 p.m. The annual meeting will start at 8:15 p.m. Voting and the annual meeting will take place at the Dassel History Center, 901 1st St. N.
In Cokato Township, Brad Morris re-filed for the open clerk position, and Paul “Mike” Niemela re-filed for the open supervisor position.
Voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the township hall. The annual meeting will start at 8:05 p.m.
Kingston Township also has two open positions. Supervisor Dan Schiefelbein re-filed, as did Clerk Gail Schiefelbein. The election and annual meeting will be at the Kingston Community Center. Polls will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. The board of canvass will be at 8:15 p.m., and the annual meeting will begin at 8:30 p.m.
The positions of supervisor and clerk are up for election in Collinwood Township. John Nowak has re-filed for the supervisor position, and Larry Ostlund has re-filed for the clerk position. The election will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the town hall, with the annual meeting to follow at 8:05 p.m.
French Lake Township
French Lake Township has a supervisor and clerk position open. Paul Erickson re-filed as supervisor.
Breanna Chapman, Rachael Lee Desens, and Debbie Schauer filed for the clerk position.
The annual meeting will take place at the township hall after polls close at 8 p.m.
There are two supervisor positions and the clerk position open in Stockholm Township. Supervisors Darlene Lind and Larry DeRosier have both re-filed, and Andrew Engh has also filed for a supervisor position. Jody Selseth re-filed for the clerk position.
Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stockholm Community Center. The annual meeting will follow at 8:15 p.m., at the same location as the elections.
In Ellsworth Township, the positions of Clerk Gordy Sieffert and Supervisor David Tipka are up for election. Both incumbents re-filed.
Polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. The annual meeting will follow, starting at 8:15 p.m. at the township hall.
Darwin Township has its elections in the fall, but will still have an annual meeting Tuesday, March 8 at the township hall, starting at 7 p.m. Clerk Fred Atkinson said the township plans to do minimal road improvements this year, since there were larger projects last year.
